TOWN OF LYONS
MINUTES OF SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
April 8, 2013
Meeting opened at 7:00pm. Present were chairman Joy Bartelson, supervisors Doug Day and Bill Henningfield, treasurer Geri Henningfield, and clerk Karla Hill. Approximately 12 area residents and guests were in attendance. Bartelson led pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Henningfield to approve minutes of March 11th monthly meeting, seconded by Day, Carried.
Motion by Henningfield to approve the March treasurer’s report, seconded by Day, Carried.
Motion by Henningfield to pay the bills for the month of March, sweep and general checking account reports, seconded by Day, Carried.
Motion by Henningfield to approve one operator license for Holly Underwood, seconded by Day, Carried.
Correspondence-Clerk read letter praising Hwy Department for their job snow plowing this year. Public information meeting 4/16/2013 in Walworth County Board Room 114 for plans to acquire County Park Land in the Town of Lyons. Joy received information about a dog attack on Mill Street, which included a petition for the Walworth County Sheriff to take action against the dog.
Motion by Day to approve resolution 13-04 to exempt sidewalks from the Sheridan Springs Road bridge project, seconded by Henningfield, Carried.
Clerk swore in newly elected treasurer, Linda Skiles.
Motion by Day to appoint Dave Held as weed commissioner, seconded by Henningfield, Carried.
Motion by Day to approve FEMA/WEM payment request #5 of $8,901.09 for Country Estates Community Association storm shelter grant, seconded by Henningfield, Carried.
Motion by Bartelson to approve of the Quarterly Status Report for FEMA/WEM grant, seconded by Henningfield, Carried.
Fire Department-Chief Lara said they would be applying for grants for new engine.
Highway Department-Miriam and Robert Purdum brought up that the road is sinking again in front of the sampling station on Church Street. Wondered if slurry fill had been used, or could be used now for repair.

Motion made by Bartelson to adjourn at 7:20pm, seconded by Henningfield, Carried.
